“是谁杀害了小狗惠灵顿?”
《深夜小狗离奇事件》源于一个非凡少年的动人自白,讲述他以一种令人惊奇却更能揭示真相的方式,来理解这个世界。
15岁的克里斯托弗拥有不太一样的大脑——他喜欢数学,热爱太空,热衷于照看他的宠物白鼠,却没有足够的能力解读日常生活,害怕与陌生人接触,被别人轻轻触碰也会令他尖声大叫。一天夜里,邻居希尔斯夫人的小狗惠灵顿被神秘杀害,克里斯托弗因为抱起了它却成了最大嫌疑犯。他以第一人称视角在一本书中记录了每个与狗死亡事件相关的事实,并试图破解谋杀之谜,然而他发现了更多的秘密,把他带上了 一段颠覆的旅程……他独自一人登上前往伦敦的火车,他在寻找什么?在他独自面对未曾经历的这一切的时候,还要参加英国高等学校的入学数学考试。他,能成功吗?

2003年,英国作家、漫画家马克·哈登的长篇小说处女作《深夜小狗离奇事件》出版,凭借作品本身的魅力,于2004年圣诞前夜超越红极一时的《哈利波特》,登上英国畅销书排行榜第1名。随后,作品陆续以35种文字在全球出版,赢得世界各地读者和媒体的如潮好评,并荣获英国“惠特布莱德年度图书”、“大英图书奖年度最佳童书”,美国“多利·格雷儿童文学奖”,日本“产经儿童出版文化赏大奖”等世界范围内的30多项文学大奖。
2012年,《深夜小狗离奇事件》由西蒙·史蒂芬斯根据同名畅销小说改编,由曾指导过《战马》的玛丽安尼·艾略特导演。这部作品被《泰晤士报》誉为“故事讲述和视觉冲击的非凡组合”,并且获得2013年包括最佳新创话剧在内的劳伦斯·奥利弗奖7项大奖以及包括最佳话剧在内的托尼奖5项大奖,包括最佳剧本、最佳导演及舞台设计等,无疑是因为此剧的编剧、导演、演员、舞台设计、灯光及音乐皆臻完美,而且故事充满奇思妙想,观众不分老少,无不为剧情的奇妙布局,异想天开的影像,与剧中少年的超凡思维感动不已。
堪称21世纪最奇幻眩目舞台剧,《深夜小狗离奇事件》是英国国家剧院近年最叫好叫座的作品之一,于首演后引发轰动,旋即移师伦敦西区及纽约百老汇驻场演出,2017-2018年更踏上世界巡演之路,远征远赴欧洲、北美、澳大利亚以及亚洲。
关于英国国家剧院
英国国家剧院,是世界一流的剧院团体,一直保持着世界上最大剧院之一的地位。1963年,由著名演员劳伦斯·奥利弗担任艺术总监的国家剧院在老维克剧院临时落脚,很快吸引了国内诸多戏剧家的加盟,并以精湛的演出在国内外赢得了声誉。直到1976年,才建立了位于泰晤士河南岸的固定剧院,沿用至今的是三个固定剧场,繁荣的戏剧演出也带动了泰晤士河南岸艺术的发展。
他们制作了很多具有娱乐性、挑战性和启发性的世界级戏剧,他们的戏为所有人制作。 在2016至2017年就制作了26部新戏,演出2585场。英国国家剧院屡获殊荣的剧目吸引了180万观众,其中40万是NT Live的观众。
他们制作的宗旨是在最大限度地延长伦敦西区、整个英国乃至全世界新作品的生命力。近期作品包括《战马》、《海达·高布乐》、《深夜小狗离奇事件》、《天使在美国》 、《人物》、《地点与事物》以及《简·爱》。
英国国家剧院《深夜小狗离奇事件》将是继中文版《战马》后中英文化交流又一次里程碑,已荣幸入选2018年第十八届“相约北京”艺术节。“相约北京”艺术节是由中华人民共和国文化部、北京市人民政府、国家广播电影电视总局主办,中国对外文化集团公司、北京市文化局承办的一项集广泛性和多样性为一体的国家级大型综合国际艺术节。此次英国国家剧院来京除了带来《深夜小狗离奇事件》演出外,还将依托艺术节及北京天桥艺术中心举行一系列的文化交流活动。让我们与英国国家剧院一起“相约北京”!期待更多惊喜!

The National Theatre’s Olivier and Tony Award®-winning production of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, will come to Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on May 24 to May 27 2018. This is the first time the production will play in Beijing.
THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME is adapted by Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s best-selling book, and directed by Tony Award winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse, Curious Incident).

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME transferred to London’s West End, following a sold-out run at the National Theatre’s Cottesloe theatre in September 2012.It is the recipient of a record-breaking seven 2013 Olivier Awards, including Best New Play, Best Director, Best Design, Best Lighting Design and Best Sound Design – more Olivier’s than any other play in the history of London’s West End.
CURIOUS INCIDENT, the longest-running play on Broadway in over a decade, premiered at the Barrymore Theatre in September 2014, winning five Tony Awards® including Best Play, six Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Play, five Outer Critics Circle Awards including Outstanding New Broadway Play and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off Broadway Play. CURIOUS INCIDENT was named among the top 10 productions of 2014 by over 20 leading media outlets, including The New York Times, Associated Press, New York Post, Time Out New York, Playbill and Time Magazine.
The show tells the story of Christopher John Francis Boone, who is fifteen years old. He stands besides Mrs Shears’ dead dog, which has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in a book he is writing to solve the mystery of who killed Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, and is exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.
The production is designed by Olivier and Tony Award-winner Bunny Christie, Tony Award-winning lighting designer Paule Constable and Tony Award-winning video designer Finn Ross. Movement is by Scott Graham and Olivier Award-winning Steven Hoggett for Frantic Assembly, music by Adrian Sutton (who also composed music for War Horse) and sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph.
Mark Haddon’s novel THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME was published in 2003 and was the winner of more than 17 literary awards, including prizes in the US, Japan, Holland and Italy, as well as the prestigious Whitbread Book of the Year Award in the UK in 2004. The novel has been translated into 44 languages and sold more than 5.5 million copies world-wide.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’s international tour visits the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with further international dates to be announced. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time recently completed a North American tour which took in 30 cities across the USA, and a UK and Ireland tour which took in 25 towns and cities.
Marianne Elliott was an Associate Director of the National Theatre for 10 years, and her current play for the company, a new production of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America appears at the NT until August 2017. Her other work includes War Horse (co-directed with Tom Morris), The Light Princess, Port, Season’s Greetings, All’s Well that Ends Well, Harper Regan, Saint Joan (Olivier Award for Best Revival, South Bank Show Award for Theatre), and Pillars of the Community (Evening Standard Award for Best Director). Marianne was consultant director on The Elephantom for the National Theatre and directed Sweet Bird of Youth for the Old Vic with Kim Cattrall. Marianne recently formed a new company with producer Chris Harper - Elliott Harper Productions.
Mark Haddon is an author, illustrator and screenwriter who has written fifteen books for children and won two BAFTAs. His bestselling novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, was published simultaneously by Jonathan Cape and David Fickling in 2003. It won seventeen literary prizes, including the Whitbread Award. His poetry collection, The Talking Horse and the Sad Girl and the Village Under the Sea, was published by Picador in 2005, and his last novel, The Red House, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2012. His latest book is The Pier Falls, a collection of stories. He lives in Oxford.
Simon Stephens’ plays for the National Theatre include: a new translation of The Threepenny Opera, Port (originally produced at the Royal Exchange and directed by Marianne Elliott) at the National Theatre’s Lyttelton Theatre , Harper Regan (which was produced at Canadian Stage) and On the Shore of the Wide World (co-production with Royal Exchange, Manchester: Olivier Award for Best New Play). His many other plays include Carmen Disruption, Heisenberg, Birdland, Blindsided, Three Kingdoms, Wastwater, Punk Rock, Seawall, Pornography, Country Music, Christmas and Herons; A Thousand Stars Explode in the Sky (co-written with Robert Holman and David Eldridge); an adaptation of Jon Fosse’s I Am the Wind and Motortown. His version of A Doll’s House for the Young Vic transferred to the West End and then New York in 2014. Simon is an Associate at the Lyric, Hammersmith and the Royal Court Theatre. Simon’s book – Simon Stephens, A working Diary was published in 2016.
