Trikonanga explores three essential dimensions that is representative of Hema Bharathy PALANI’s unique movement language and approach to dance. The piece combines distinct physical ties of three dance forms – Bharatanatyam, contemporary and ballet. It traverses across various emotional states, bridging the three pivotal regions of the body – head, navel and toe, and the movement leaves traces of triangles in the body and in space. Alluding to the concept of navarasa (nine emotional states), from classical Indian dance forms, Trikonanga embodies nine passages that employ three major devices of enactment – angika abhinaya (physical expression), vaachika abhinaya (oral expression) and saatvika abhinaya (inner emotional expression).

Scape of YI is inspired by Einstein’s Dreams by Alan LIGHTMAN, Scape of YI reflects the microscopic observations of human nature through time and memories. The piece takes audience to broaden his/her scope and serves as critique to the lively scape of human beings, of things, of relationships, and of feelings. Youthfulness and animal instincts induce strong desire and intimacy despite disorders and instabilities occur. In this internet era full of speedy changes, one searches for one’s existence - the most unreal reality in human nature.
